It’s a Sci-Art weekend at the Museum of Beadwork as we open an incredible new exhibit! 

Come and experience what’s possible when art and science join forces! July 11 & 12, 2026, join world-renowned artists, award-winning scientists, and our amazing museum community for cool science workshops, beautiful beadwork projects, artwork contests, and so much more! It’s a weekend of imagination, inspiration, and mindblowing fun! 

We will have microbiologist Dr. Anne A. Madden, five-time TED/TEDx speaker, the most recent recipient of National Geographic's Wayfinder Award, and life long Maine resident in our gallery ready to talk microbes!

This is also your chance to experience a new collection of works specially created to illuminate the wonders of the microbial world and how it impacts our everyday lives. Plus, you can take in all of the 34 exquisite pieces created for the MOB Beadwork Challenge.

Voting for the “Best in Show” prize will kick off this weekend and run to August 16. We need your help to make the final decision for the most coveted of prizes in the Beadwork Challenge!

Experts, artists, and enthusiasts will be on hand at the museum all weekend long, so it’s a great time to strike up a conversation and get your geek on.
